Revealing a River

Growing up in Monterrey, Mexico, biologist and artist Mar Aguilar was told their home was a barren landscape. But when they discover the Santa Catarina River, Mar forms a deep connection with its overlooked waters. Determined to protect it from being swallowed by urban expansion, Mar turns to their art to reveal what others have failed to see: an ecosystem teeming with life. As their work gains momentum, it fuels the movement to safeguard the river’s future.
